Accuracy is the baseline of a magazine of record. Black Opulence Magazine is a young, independent publication, and we would rather correct a mistake openly than leave a quiet error in the archive.
How to Report an Error
If you spot an error in any article, whether a wrong figure, a misspelled name, a broken or misattributed source, or an outdated detail, please tell us. Send the article title, the specific error, and (if you have it) the correct information through our contact page, with the subject “Correction.” We review every report and reply as promptly as we can.
How We Correct
Corrections are noted on the article itself rather than quietly deleted. When we verify an error, we update the article and add a dated correction note at the foot of the piece describing what was wrong, what it now says, and when it was changed. The original claim is not erased from view; the correction stands beside it so the record stays honest.
For minor typographical fixes that do not change meaning, such as a stray comma, or a formatting glitch, we update the text without a formal note. Anything that changes a fact, a figure, a name, or a conclusion gets a dated correction note.
Updates Versus Corrections
Some articles are updated over time as new information becomes available. A business adds a location, a product launches a new edition. Those updates are labeled as updates, not corrections, so you can tell the difference between a story that grew and a fact we got wrong.
